think you need to add the Technorati link to someplace permanent like your sidebar. Once this leaves the front page, I don't know if it will work right.

I find that a major blogging drawback are the templates—they're not as flexible from a customizing standpoint. I made due with the template I chose (minima I think) but as you can see with the header I was forced to make concessions. It'll probably be easier for a more web savvy coder to maximize their options.
Do you know anything about Technorati? I was already getting hits but I thought that perhaps this would maximize visibility. I suppose time will tell.
